The Story of
The Lost Boys- Live!

In 1987 when Shelley McLendon was in the 10th grade, she saw the movie The Lost Boys at a sneak preview in a theater in Long Beach, CA, and she was never the same. She felt as though she had travelled to a mystical land where sexy synth music filled the fog and gorgeous teenage vampires hypnotized you with their hair, motorcycles, and brazen use of fingerless gloves. She was mesmerized.  She had so many questions. Questions like...

"Can I live in the Lost Boys cave?"

"Is that sax player a real person?"

"Is Laddie, the vampire child, really necessary to the plot of the story?"

"Can I be the girlfriend of ALL of the Lost Boys?"

This movie was a formative influence in Shelley's adolescent development. She still has the soundtrack on cassette she bought in 1987.

Fast forward to 2012 when Shelley and pal Courtenay Hameister were looking for another 1980s movie to parody after their smash hit Road House: The Play! The Lost Boys was the first movie Shelley thought of. She called on all of her talented buddies to join the team, and her dreams of living in the land of The Lost Boys came true.

Thank you for joining us as we celebrate 10 years of The Lost Boys- Live!
