FESTIVAL FAQ'S
What is "sketch comedy?"
Sketch comedy can be defined as short, scripted scenes, vignettes, or "sketches" where typically 1- 12 comedic actors are trying to make you laugh. Sketch comedy is different than improv and stand up. Think Saturday Night Live, A Black Lady Sketch Show, or The Kids in The Hall... except we are doing them live in front of your face.
Is The Siren ADA accessible for audience members?
It is!
The Siren is on the ground floor, and the entrance has no stairs.
The restrooms are ADA accessible.
The chairs in The Siren are movable and can allow for wheelchairs, scooters, etc.
The closest handicapped parking space is around the corner on N. Mississippi and Failing.
Will the shows be kid friendly?
While The Siren is all ages, most of the shows we host are most appropriate for adults. Most of the festival shows will be PG13, but we cannot guarantee that. If you are interested in bringing a younger audience member to one of the shows, we recommend researching the website, Facebook or Instagram pages of the performers if you have questions about their material.
I purchased a Friday Night or Saturday Night pass for myself, but I want to let my friend use the pass for one of the shows. Can I do that?
No. Passes are not transferrable.
Does The Siren have a bar?
It sure does, and it will be open before each show begins! Our bar serves beer, wine, cider, non alcoholic drinks and some snacks. The bar will be closed while shows are in progress.
Will the shows start on time?
This is the 6th year that we have been hosting this festival, and we can proudly say that 90% of the shows have started on time. We don't expect that to change, but sometimes things happen and we need to start a few minutes late! We appreciate your patience if a show needs to be delayed.
It says online that the show I want to see is sold out. Will there be tickets available at the door?
Perhaps. We recommend showing up at least 15 minutes prior to the start of the show and inquiring if there are tickets available. We try our hardest to get people in!
Can I take pictures or videos during the shows?
Please don't! It's distracting to the performers and to those around you. Please put your cell phone away and don't be that person. Just be in the moment and enjoy a live show that isn't on a screen.
